Step 1: The Strasbaugh Financial Assessment
We know you have questions about your finances, and this is your chance to get them answered. At the two-hour Financial Assessment you have the opportunity to ask your three most pressing financial questions.  You may be wondering if you are saving enough to retire, or whether you have enough life insurance, or if you are maximizing all your tax deductions. Whatever those questions might be, the professional staff of Strasbaugh Financial Advisory, Inc. (SFA) can help with answers.  At the conclusion of this appointment, we leave an extra hour open to discuss options for continuing on with our Resourceful Retirement Solution process, but of course you are under no obligation to do so.  For more information, please click here to download The Financial Assessment agreement.
Step 2: The Net Worth Snapshot™
At this appointment we will analyze your current net worth by consolidating all of your assets and liabilities on one easy-to-read statement. At the Net Worth Snapshot we will paint an accurate picture of what your net worth is and start the conversation about where you want it to be. We take a look at the resources you will need to keep track of and grow your assets.  New investment and retirement accounts are established and accounts are consolidated for ease of recordkeeping.
Step 3: The Cash Flow Maximizer™
One of the biggest challenges in retirement is managing your cash flow. SFA’s Cash Flow Maximizer appointment will help you identify all of your predictable income sources, including your pension and social security, and factor in outside revenue sources, such as retirement savings or potential income.  We add up your known liabilities, such as mortgage or any other loans, and expenses.  We then chart your short- and long-term cash flow needs, in order project spending patterns and align them with expected income and portfolio withdrawals.

Taxes are probably one of the largest expenses you face each year. As tax professionals, SFA can evaluate your situation and identify tax savings strategies.  We will work together to do everything we legally can to minimize your tax obligation.
Step 4: The Ideal Future Gameplan™
What do you want your life to look like in 5 or10 years? SFA’s Ideal Future Gameplan process will help you map out a plan to achieve your financial goals. A secure retirement may not be your only financial goal, but it’s probably the most important one. We can help you explore all of your options and help you set the course for a successful retirement by answering such questions as:
  • When will you retire?
  • What kind of lifestyle do you want to achieve?
  • Are your goals realistic based on your current savings?
  • What are your priorities, and what are you willing to do to achieve them?

We will design a comprehensive retirement plan that gets you where you want to go taking into account all of your retirement resources, from 401k plans and individual retirement accounts to Social Security and your taxable investment savings.

If you are already retired, we’ll help you turn your savings into a sustainable retirement income stream. We will prioritize your savings amount taxable and tax-deferred options, and help you decide when and if to roll your 401(k) into an IRA.
Step 5: The Protection Planning Profile™
No matter how many computer simulations you run, the only thing you can know for sure about your financial plan is that there is no such thing as a crystal ball. That uncertainty can leave you with too many unanswered questions such as:
  • Will you outlive your savings and investments?
  • Will the long-term care of you and your spouse one day burden your children?
  • Will your family be financially secure if something should happen to you?
  • What would happen to your business if you should die?

You can never know what the future will bring, but you can safeguard your family’s financial health by managing your risk as carefully as you manage your portfolio. During the Protection Planning Profile meeting we can help you identify your unique risks, analyze your current insurance coverage and estate plan, and customize a comprehensive solution.
Step 6: The Investment Solution™
A clear investment process, combined with years of experience, lead to good investment decisions. The Investment Solution appointment assures we establish investment objectives based upon your individual investment goals. A customized asset allocation plan is developed, by taking into account your objectives, risk tolerance, time horizon and tax bracket.  We educate you so you understand our philosophy and the reasoning behind recommendations we make for you, and then implement the investments on your behalf.

More about our investment management process:

At SFA, we embrace our role as a fiduciary, a responsibility that means we must always act with your best interest in mind. As a fiduciary, we are different from personal financial advisors who are compensated through commissions. It’s a distinction we are proud of and that benefits you.

  • Unlike a broker, we are not licensed to sell you securities and we are not salespeople.
  • We are a Registered Investment Adviser and only sell you our advice.
  • You need not worry about hidden fees or a hidden agenda because, as an RIA, we are required by law to fully disclose any conflicts of interest we have in serving you.
  • We earn our fee not by charging you commissions on securities trades like stockbrokers, but by levying a fee for ongoing money management.
  • You avoid the conflict of interest that arises when a broker receives better commissions by selling you one product instead of another or makes money by making more trades in your account.
  • As a fee-only financial advisory firm, we do not accept fees from third party product providers.

After the initial Resourceful Retirement Solution process is completed, we continue to monitor and rebalance your investments, and to meet with you on a regular basis to keep your financial plan alive. You can trust SFA to always be there when you need us, answering your questions and working with you in pursuit of your goals. Since service is all that we sell, you can count on us to:

  • Treat you with respect, honesty and integrity.
  • Work as your financial coach, always putting your interests first.
  • Educate you to ensure that you are comfortable with each of our recommendations.
  • Strive to exceed your expectations at every level of the relationship.
